My work is regularly featured in local shows and listed below are some of the latest ones:
The Adur Art Trail - 4&5 and 11&12 June 2011
The Shoreham Gallery will open its doors for this ever popular festival once again, and I am looking forward to welcoming festival goers, both old and new.
Chris Bridges (silver and gemstone jewellery) and Emily Bridges (driftwood art) will be exhibiting alongside and as ever, our grateful thanks go web design company Bright Site (www.bright-site.co.uk) for the use of their first floor premises.
Opening hours are 11am to 4pm on both weekends.
Flower Festival - A Celebration of Marriage - 1 to 4 July 2010
Another first for me. I was given the theme of 'Diamond Wedding Anniversary' for this annual flower festival which took place in St Margaret's Church, Rottingdean, Brighton.
Very honoured to have been given the space to the left of the altar for my design - wanting to do something quite different I opted for a floral bride look. I am told she caused quite a stir!
As there are no diamond flowers I chose to use predominently yellow ones - albeit that diamonds come in most colours of the rainbow, the normal colour range is from clear to yellow. A splash of blue delphiniums in my design hints to the blue Hope Diamond; one of the most expensive in the world.
Since I wasn't able to be constantly present, I will never know whether Simon Cowell popped in as the church in question is a possible contender for his nuptials?!?
The Adur Art Trail - 5&6, 12&13 and 19&20 June 2010
I was delighted to take part in this wonderful festival with Chris Bridges (silver and gemstone jewellery), Emily Bridges (driftwood art), Julia Elliott (oils and watercolours) and Seb Tucknott (photographs of local scenes) at The Shoreham Gallery, 30a Brunswick Road, Shoreham by Sea.
This was our first time and the feedback we received was superb - in fact many were so impressed they want The Shoreham Gallery to become a permanent fixture. As the premises are normally those of web design company Bright Site (www.bright-site.co.uk) it means everyone is going have to wait until next year to see us all again!
Brighton Festival 2010 - 7 to 29 May 2010
I was priviledged to take part in this year's festival and my work was on show in Tantalus, Bond Street, Brighton, together with the work of American Erin Burns (mixed media painting incorporating photography, paint and resin on aluminium).
Happily for me, although the festival has long finished, the owner of Tantalus, Edwina Pooley, continues to display many of my canvases and cards.
